While scouting around and looking fro some kind of bingo happening in the UK, and not being able to find anything about the land based version of this game, I though I would turn to the National Bingo site. In the past when I wrote about land bingo threw was always lots up and you could always rely on this site for a good winning story or two.
Imagine my disappointment when I arrived at the site only to find that there is no longer any winners information there and the last news post was from August this year. Has land bingo really become this boring? It is like a ghost town at the site and quite frankly I find it appalling that the official spokes-body for the industry is so tight lipped about what is going on, or are they just plain lazy. The last news post was for the launch of Breakthrough Bingo and there is some mention that there may be a car up for grabs this Christmas, but even this statement was ambiguous and “may” was the operative word.
Meanwhile online bingo is forging ahead, getting stronger by the day and every site worth its salt is offering fantastic Christmas prizes, so far I have seen three sites which are offering cars as Christmas presents and the annual Wink Bingo New Year Mini contest is going hot again.
Every second site has an advent calendar counting down the days to Christmas and special additional prizes being offered. There are perfumes, shopping sprees, shopping vouchers, cash, discounts, Nintendo Wii’s, TV’s Cameras and of course card up for grabs too.
There was mention made at one point that Online Bingo would be required to join the National Bingo Association and they were quite adamant about not doing this. They were of the mind that they should form their own Association because and association is supposed to be pro industry. If I were a land based bingo club in the UK, I would withdraw my membership from the National Bingo, they are nothing but a pseudo-figurehead which collects fees and seems to be blatantly and completely ignorant about what goes on. They don’t even seem to make an attempt at the site and quite frankly I find this disgusting.
