I really believe that X Factor has gotten out of hand at some of my favourite bingo sites, some more than others and one in particular. I am actually afraid to visit one of my favourite sites because all they ever speak about is X Factor. While I understand that television viewers love this programme and that it might make good marketing sense to piggy back promotions for the new X factor games on this. I feel it has reached completely epidemic proportions and has become like a bad case of the measles or even worse Ebola, deadly contagious!
If I feel that I no longer want to visit a site because of X factor being perpetually rammed down my throat, surely there must be others like me? There are a lot of online bingo players in this world, and although you can’t predict my reaction and whether other members will react like me, have they not given thought to the “what if”.
Fortunately I can heave a sigh of relief and play at what was my second favourite site, which by the way is now my first favourite site; Wink Bingo. This site has X Factor the game and a couple of comments about it, but they are not bleeding hearts for it, and completely controlled and swept away on the tsunami that has become X Factor. I like them because they have taken the middle road, everything has a bit of a mention and move one. It is a bit bloody stupid that no-one can play a game of bingo without hearing about Stacey, Jedward, Simon, Louis and Dannii etc. There seems to be nowhere to hide from it!
The obsession of a nation over what I now believe to be a stupid, pretentious reality show, really has be completely flabbergasted, are we really a nation of sheep. I have no issue with following trends and watching good programming, but the fact that my favourite bingo site has been completely ruined for me by this has really got me up in arms and on my soap box. Don’t take any notice of me, I am just having a rant!
